Donation for the Children’s Shelter in Belgrade

The Shelter for urgent protection of abused children, existing as a part of Center for protection of infants, children and youth in Belgrade, was granted a donation worth 200,000 RSD yesterday by company Milsped. The shelter received beds, home appliances and other means necessary for improving living conditions in this institution.

Currently, the shelter provides accommodation to fifteen children from seven to eighteen years of age who have emergently been dissociated from their families. This shelter recovers children from first traumatic consequences and offers safe and sound sanctuary to abused and neglected children. This institution is unique in the system of social protection in Serbia; its capacity covers twenty children of both genders. The shelter for urgent protection of abused children offers psychological support, as well as educational and medical, and by means of family therapy it improves relations between children and parents making appropriate grounds for returning children to their families.

- We have been cooperating with company Milsped for five consecutive years now and we have been receiving substantial material help from them. Moreover, they have helped us providing scholarships and employing our protégés. Donation for the shelter in time of Christmas and New Year holidays is important and significant for many reasons. Not only has it ensured necessary means for improving the quality of children’s lives, but it has also given and important message to children that they are not alone and there are people who think of them in season of family holidays and are ready to help them making their lives easier and even nicer in the moment of crisis – said Zoran Milacic, Director of the Center.

Director of the Center was presented the donation by Deputy Managing Director of Milsped, Dusko Radovic, along with a promise that such actions shall continue in future.
- This is symbolic action for the company, but significant for this institution. We are glad to be able to help these children and relieve their growing up in challenging circumstances.
